Join Us for Hawkeye Dance Day – February 13, 2026

You're invited to experience Hawkeye Dance Day at the University of Iowa! This exciting event offers prospective students the chance to:

  • Take placement classes with our renowned faculty

  • Perform a solo (required for BFA applicants and BA scholarship candidates)

  • Connect with current students and get a feel for our vibrant dance community

Whether you've already applied to the University of Iowa or are just exploring your options, you're welcome to attend! Hawkeye Dance Day is a dynamic and welcoming way to learn more about our department—and for us to get to know you!

Hawkeye Dance Day Schedule of Events

8:30-9:40am Check in – studios will be open for individual warm up. Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided for students and families.

9:40-9:45am Meet the faculty

9:45-10:00am Group warm up with Jenn Pray

10:00-11:15am Contemporary class and improvisation with Melinda Myers and Paul Cunliffe

11:15-11:20am Short break

11:20-12:20pm Ballet class with Kristin Marrs and Colin DeJong

12:20-12:30pm Short break

12:30-1:00pm Solos – Bachelor of Fine Arts applicants and Bachelor of Arts scholarship applicants

1:00-2:00pm Lunch break

2:00-3:00pm Faculty & Student Choreography Showcase at Space Place Theater

3:00-3:30pm Q&A session for prospective students and parents with panel of current students and faculty

3:30-4:00pm Undergraduate Dance Organization (UDO) and Student Q&A
