Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Martyna Majok will be visiting March 30–April 1 in residence with the Iowa Playwrights Workshop, including a Department of Theatre Arts Q&A Wednesday, April 1, from 5:00–6:30 p.m. in MacVey Theatre.

Martyna Majok
Martyna Majok is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, screenwriter, and librettist. Her Broadway debut play, Cost of Living, for which she won the Pulitzer, was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. Other plays include Sanctuary City, Queens, and Ironbound, which have been produced across American and international stages, and the libretto for Gatsby: An American Myth. Other awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship, The Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award, Arthur Miller Foundation Legacy Award, The Obie Award for Playwriting, The Hull-Warriner Award, The Academy of Arts and Letters’ Benjamin Hadley Danks Award for Exceptional Playwriting, among many others.

Marin Ireland is a Broadway actor. Some of her performances include Reasons to be Pretty (Theatre World Award, Tony nomination), The Big Knife, After Miss Julie.
