 5/2: How Polarity Yields Five Codes of Music - A Syzygy with S/Z. Presentation 5: Semes promotional image

This concert is free and open to the public.

Professor Matthew Arndt emcees the fifth of seven presentations of an intergalactic music poetics that explains every kind of musical sign in our universe. The focus is on semes, or musical resemblances. There will be a première screening of a video episode produced by Rabalais Productions with artisan animation by Media Productions Workshop. The program then features the premières of two works for oboe, performed by Dr. David Cyzak. The first is a sonata for oboe and piano by Matthew Arndt, accompanied by Mariya Akhadjanova. The second is a piece by Dr. Cyzak that demonstrates the connection of musical signs and symbols.
