An audacious drummer, emcee, singer, and producer reinvents hip-hop classics as jazz.
Throughout his career, Kassa Overall has moved effortlessly across the lines that connect jazz and rap — two of America’s most enduring musical inventions. Drawing from CREAM, his most recent album on Warp Records, Overall’s setlist will mine classics from Notorious B.I.G., Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, OutKast, and other hip-hop standouts, reimagining them as jazz standards.
