Part of HANCHER’S 2026–2027 SEASON and INFINITE DREAM
Presented by HANCHER AUDITORIUM
An artist of astonishing range and creativity will share insights into her process and ideas.
Miranda July is a filmmaker, artist, and writer—a description that deeply undersells her place in the zeitgeist. Noting she has been a Guggenheim Fellow and was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 most influential people of 2025” gets us a little closer. Her most recent novel, All Fours, was a New York Times bestseller, a finalist for the National Book Award, and a sensation among readers. Its publication in 2024 could rightly be called a breakout moment for July, but her artistic output of all kinds has long thrilled those in the know.
Her conversation at Infinite Dream will be moderated by Melissa Febos—an acclaimed essayist, memoirist, and professor in the UI’s Nonfiction Writing Program.
"July doesn’t just tap into the zeitgeist; she helps shape it.” — Time
