Part of HANCHER’S 2026–2027 SEASON and INFINITE DREAM
Presented by HANCHER AUDITORIUM
An artist of astonishing range and creativity will share insights into her process and ideas.
Miranda July is a filmmaker, artist, and writer — a description that deeply undersells her place in the zeitgeist. Noting she has been a Guggenheim Fellow and was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 most influential people of 2025” gets us a little closer. Her most recent novel, All Fours, was a New York Times bestseller, a finalist for the National Book Award, and a sensation among readers. Its publication in 2024 could rightly be called a breakout moment for July, but her artistic output of all kinds has long thrilled those in the know.
Her conversation at Infinite Dream will be moderated by Melissa Febos — an acclaimed essayist, memoirist, and professor in the UI’s Nonfiction Writing Program.
"July doesn’t just tap into the zeitgeist; she helps shape it.” — Time
