This concert is free and open to the public. 

The Jazz Repertory Ensemble, directed by Prof. Curtis Taylor, presents an evening celebrating the music of legendary bandleader and pianist Count Basie. The program will feature selections primarily from Basie’s 1968 album Basie Straight Ahead, showcasing the swinging rhythms, blues-inflected melodies, and signature big-band sound that defined the Basie Orchestra.
