Hancher favorites Emanuel Ax and Anthony McGill will engage in a special conversation at the University of Iowa School of Music, moderated by University of Iowa's own Benjamen Coelho.

Together Ax and McGill will present a perfect mix of music for the two instruments — including a work by Jessie Montgomery, Hancher’s 2024–2025 composer-in-residence.

Four singers from The Crossing, including University of Iowa 2020 alumna, Anika Kildegaard, will present a shared solo recital.

Donald Nally, conductor of the Crossing and David Lang, composer and University of Iowa alum, will be in conversation moderated by Ann Howard Jones (BM ‘64, MM 66’, DMA ‘84) as part of the Creative Matters lecture series.

The Crossing and the UI choir Kantorei will perform together at the top of concert and music director Donald Nally will lead The Crossing in performance of Lang’s poor hymnal.

The three Schumann brothers — Erik (violin), Ken (violin), and Mark (cello) — and violist Veit Hertenstein bring an abundance of energy and spontaneity to everything they play.
